 placenta burial ceremony

They tell me that I attended a little ceremony this afternoon. I was just shy of twelve hours old, they said. I was told that mommy and daddy were there, and my sisters two. All of us stood around a bit staring at this bucket that held my womb home, I am told. A placenta, they called it. Mommy says we threw it in a hole in the ground and covered it with dirt.

They all swear this strange occurrence took place, but I just don’t know who to believe… I slept through it.
